Hi, I'm Tim. I am a licensed teacher, tutor, writer, business owner and homeschool specialist with a Master's from Hamline University. I have taught and tutored hundreds of private schools, public school, homeschool and college students in Minnesota, Maine, New York, California, Montana, North Dakota, Wisconsin, the UAE, Guatemala and Mexico.
Believing that the relationship between student and teacher is paramount, I use humor, project-based learning, deep content knowledge and my rich experience with diverse learners to bring out the best in my students. I have a great passion for working with young people to develop and realize their academic and life goals. I believe I bring great enthusiasm and curiosity about the world to my teaching, and I know from experience that all students can succeed.
I have published a pretty well-received ACT curriculum and a fantasy short story. I'm currently working on a trilogy based on 'the little people' of old Norse myth. I live in the Nokomis neighborhood of Minneapolis with Stefanie, my lovely and all-knowing wife, Bjorn and Rowan, my two vibrant sons, and a large, rambunctious dog with an unfortunate fondness for hossenfeffer.
